What is a pipe bender?
A pipe bender is a machine tool designed to bend varying diameters and thicknesses of pipe in various materials, such as mild steel or stainless steel. Pipe benders have three parameters that need to be set once the desired tooling and pipe has been loaded: feed length, rotation of pipe and angle of bend. The tooling system comprises the mandrel tool, clamp die, pressure die and wiper die. The wiper die is not always necessary, but can smooth the walls of the pipe during bending to avoid the ripple effect.
