What are manual machine tools?

Manual machine tools, such as box and pan folders, straight folders, treadle guillotines, hand corner notchers, and hand shears use man power to carry out their function. Making use of levers, clever articulation and counter balancing - much more force can be applied to the work piece than a human is capable of. For example, a hand shear can cut 10 mm plate over a short width and a box and pan folder could bend 2 mm material over a length of 3 meters, all by hand.
